Bhubaneswar, July 25 -- Vedanta Aluminium, India's largest aluminium producer, has announced a major capacity expansion at its Special Economic Zone (SEZ) facility in Jharsuguda.

The company is increasing the installed capacity of its Primary Foundry Alloy (PFA) unit by 120 kilo tonnes per annum (KTPA).

This strategic move is expected to bolster India's position in the global automotive and engineering aluminium markets. Vedanta Aluminium was notably the first Indian company to produce and supply PFA for the domestic market.

Primary Foundry Alloys (PFAs) are critical for manufacturing high-performance automotive components such as alloy wheels, cylinder heads, engine blocks, and transmission housings.
