Shimla, Jan. 8 -- Employment generation in Himachal Pradesh has doubled under the Modi government, with man-days rising from 16.52 lakh during the Congress tenure to 32.6 lakh, said BJP State President Rajeev Bindal on Wednesday.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the Centre's newly enacted Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural) - VB-G RAM G Act, 2025, is a landmark initiative aimed at accelerating rural development by directly linking employment with creation of durable assets.

Bindal said the scheme, passed in Parliament is a result of the Modi government's assessment of changing socio-economic realities and the need to move beyond earlier employment programmes.
