Puducherry, March 22 -- Puducherry AIADMK state deputy secretary Vayyapuri Manikandan on Sunday quit the party upset over not getting a ticket to contest the April 9 Assembly elections and he is likely to join the AINRC.
A former legislator from Muthialpet constituency , Manikandan told newspersons that he will be contesting from Muthialpet constituency.
The party on whose ticket he will be contresting will be announced by tonight, he added.
Mr.Manikandan later proceeded to meet ruling AINRC President and Chief Minister N Rangasamy and is expected to contest in the N R Congress ticket.
