Varanasi, March 12 -- Varanasi's civic body on Thursday instructed private and public parking operators to bring transparency in their working style and emphasised on intoducing a "pick and drop point" ssytem for autos and e-rickshaws to reduce traffic snarls, officials said here.
The issues hindering a smooth flow of traffic came up for discussion at an important meeting of the Parking Management Committee, held under the chairmanship of Municipal Commissioner Himanshu Nagpal.
Also, in view of the jams at the major city intersections, the corporation has laid special emphasis on the ''pick and drop'' system..Varanasi has started arranging the municipal parking management to get rid of the problem of traffic bottlenecks.
