Varanasi, Dec. 23 -- The Varanasi Police have announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for information leading to the arrest of Shubham Jaiswal, the alleged kingpin of a large-scale codeine-based cough syrup smuggling syndicate operating in Uttar Pradesh.

Lookout notices have also been issued against four of his absconding associates.

The accused are wanted under the NDPS Act, financial fraud charges, and other serious sections of law. Those named include Shubham Jaiswal, Amit Jaiswal, Divesh Jaiswal, and Akash Pathak.

Police have circulated special alerts to expedite their arrest.
