Jammu, Sept. 8 -- The pilgrimage to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine continued to remain suspended for the 14th day today from Katra town in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir due to persistent adverse weather conditions and incidents of landslides along the pilgrimage route.
As many as 34 people, mostly pilgrims, were killed and several were injured after a landslide occurred on August 26 due to heavy rains near the Inderprastha Bhojnalaya at Adhkuwari. The traders' community, however, have appealed to the Shrine Board to at least come clear on resumption of the yatra as navratras are also scheduled to begin from September 22.
