Tashkent, March 15 -- Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin on Friday, with a willingness to expand cooperation between their parliaments.
Mirziyoyev and Volodin addressed the current issues affecting the comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Russia during their meeting, according to a statement from the Uzbek president's press service.
The statement noted that particular attention was paid to expanding inter-parliamentary interaction and following up on the agreements reached during Russian President Vladimir Putin's state visit to Uzbekistan last May.
