Dehradun, Dec. 21 -- Uttarakhand government will set up modern wildlife sterilisation and rehabilitation centres to control wildlife population in all 13 districts of the state, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Saturday.

Chief Minister said that a decision for strict adherence to the wildlife population control plan was taken in wake of rising man-animal conflicts in the state, specially in the hill areas.

"Reccurring cases of man-wildlife conflicts are frequently coming to light for sometime. Besides this, massive damage to agriculture and horticulture crops owing to attacks by animals like elephants, blue bulls, bears, leopards and monkeys warrant effective measures to reduce man-animal conflicts.
