Dehradun, Sept. 18 -- A day after cloudbursts and floods claimed more than 17 lives in Dehradun, another bout of heavy rain and debris flow struck Nandnagar tehsil in Chamoli district early this morning, leaving at least 14 people missing.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that around 14 people were missing and 20 others seriously injured after a cloudburst triggered massive landslides and debris flow around 3 am. "Nearly 33 houses were destroyed due to the heavy rains, along with many cattle sheds and shops. More than 200 affected people have been evacuated to safer locations in Chamoli," he said.
