Nainital, June 27 -- The Uttarakhand High Court today lifted the stay on the three-tier panchayat elections in the state, granting a significant relief to the Pushkar Singh Dhami government.
The court has directed the Election Commission to initiate the election process.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice G. Narender and Justice Alok Mahra heard a total of 19 petitions during the day. The government was represented by Advocate General SN Babulkar and Chief Standing Counsel (CSC) Chandrashekhar Rawat.
