Dehradun, Dec. 5 -- As the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in 12 other states is coming to an end, Uttarakhand has begun its Pre-SIR exercise to update the voters' list in the Himalayan state.

So far, political parties have nominated only 4,155 block agents against 11,733 booths.

Sharing the information, Uttarakhand Chief Electoral Officer(CEO) BVRC Purushottam said that Block Level Officers (BLO) across more than 11,000 booths have been instructed to begin Pre-SIR exercise in order to familiarise themselves with the work.

CEO stated that Pre-SIR exercise will help achieving the desired target for mapping of electors including progeny in Uttarakhand.
