Dehradun, Aug. 6 -- Massive muck and debris brought by the Khirgad water stream, which caused havoc at Dharali market, has led to a lake-like formation in the Ganga riverbed near the Harsil village, putting local lives at significant risk.
Efforts are underway to channelise and discharge water from the lake. Meanwhile, the administration has shifted villagers to safer locations on higher sides.
According to the information shared by the state disaster management department, the huge mass of water and muck brought by Khirgad = also known as Khir Ganga river - yesterday, was finally deposited in the Ganga riverbed that flows on the other side of Dharali market.
