Puducherry, Oct. 7 -- Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Monday said the Union Territory of Puducherry will oppose the move of Karnataka to construct a dam across river Cauvery at Mekadatu.
Talking to news persons on the sidelines of inauguration of a office of the Congress Party and its allies at Balaji Nagar here for the October 21 assembly by-election to Kamaraj Nagar constituency, Mr Narayanasamy said that Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will not get Cauvery water if Karnataka constructs a dam.
Hence, Puducherry would approach the Supreme Court and register its protest on the issue,he said.
