Hyderabad, May 23 -- The Press Council of India (PCI) has reiterated that the name "Press Council" should not be used by individuals or organisations without prior permission.

PCI Secretary Shubha Gupta has issued a letter to the Chief Secretaries of all states, urging them to ensure that such violations are prevented.

Gupta clarified that the Press Council of India operates solely from its headquarters at Soochna Bhavan, CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi, and has no branches in any state. No individual or entity has been authorised to use the term "Press Council," she emphasised.
