Kolkata, Sept. 9 -- The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) in a fresh directive asked all shop and commercial establishment owners to put Bengali language prominently on their sign boards and hoardings latest by September 30.

State Urban Development Minister and KMC Mayor Firhad Hakim also warned that violating the order or non-compliance by the deadline may invite potential consequences to the shop owners under its jurisdiction.

Hakim also emphasized the importance of the Bengali language, alongside other languages on the sign boards of a shop or business establishment.
