Washington, July 30 -- US Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent said on Wednesday that he is not expecting the Federal Reserve to cut the basic rate during a meeting later in the day.
"I'm not expecting a rate cut today. The market is pricing in rate cuts, and what I'm hoping that we can see out of the leadership at the Federal Reserve is a little bit of imagination," Bessent said during a discussion hosted by Breitbart News.
The Fed is set to announce its rate policy decision on Wednesday.
