London, July 29 -- US President Donald Trump expressed grave concern over the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza Strip saying that the US will open "food centres" to help starving Palestinians.

Speaking during his meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer yesterday in Scotland, he said the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza was "one of the main reasons" for this meeting.

The two leaders acknowledged the "appalling" scenes in Gaza, reports CNN.

They spoke about the need for aid to be allowed into Gaza "at scale and pace" and agreed to work together to help put an end to the hunger crisis and push for the release of the remaining hostages.
