Chennai, Aug. 31 -- The ruling DMK and its allies will stage a protest demonstrationon September 2 against the BJP-led Government at the Centre for allegedly 'neglecting'the Knitwear industrial hub of Tiruppur, which was hit hard by the 50 per cent steep tariffhike imposed on Indian imports by the United States.
A joint statement signed by all the alliance parties, including the Congress, VCK, MDMK,the Left Parties--CPI and CPI(M)--MNM of actor-politician and Rajya Sabha MP KamalHaasan, , TVK of T Velmurugan and MNM, was issued by the DMK today, announcing thestir.
