Chennai, Sept. 2 -- The ruling DMK and its allies today staged a protest demonstrationagainst the BJP-led Government at the Centre for allegedly 'neglecting' the Knitwearindustrial hub of Tiruppur, which was hit hard by the 50 per cent steep tariff hike imposedon Indian imports by the United States.
Top DMK leaders and those from alliance parties took part in the demonstration held nearTiruppur Railway station.
During the demonstration, they shouted slogans denouncing the Centre for neglecting theTextile sector in Tiruppur, the knitwear hub of the country.
