Cairo, Oct. 4 -- US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff arrived in Egypt on Saturday for negotiations aimed at securing a ceasefire in Gaza. Hamas representatives are expected to reach Cairo later tonight, with talks scheduled to start Sunday, according to Saudi outlet Al Arabiya.
Officials believe that there exists a short window to strike a deal, hence thus leading to immense rush to the negotiating table by all members party to the deliberations.
"We are heading into a dramatic week," a senior Israeli official told N12.
The discussions will revolve around the key demands of the 20-point-initiative proposed US President Donald Trump.
