Washington/New Delhi, May 10 -- The US today said the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan was "brokered" by Washington.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in a statement headlined 'Announcing a U.S.-Brokered Ceasefire between India and Pakistan', said that US Vice President JD Vance and he had been engaging with the top leadership of India and Pakistan over the past two days, which led to the ceasefire agreement.
"Over the past 48 hours, Vice President Vance and I have engaged with senior Indian and Pakistani officials, including Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Shehbaz Sharif, External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, and National Security Advisors Ajit Doval and Asim Malik.
