Parwinder SandhuNew Delhi, Dec. 4 -- In a strong rebuke of Pakistan's military establishment, members of the United States Congress, led by Democratic Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal have written to Secretary of State Marco Rubio to impose targeted sanctions on Pakistan, including visa bans and asset freezes on military officials, citing what they described as an "escalating campaign of transnational repression" and a worsening human rights crisis under the military-backed government of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir.
