Washington, Dec. 19 -- The US authorities, commenting on the creation of the proposed Board of Peace for overseeing postwar management and reconstruction of the war-ravaged Gaza Strip, told interlocutors that it has secured commitments from Egypt, Qatar, the UAE, the UK, Italy and Germany on sending their leaders for joining US President Donald Trump as overseers of the board.
However, Israeli and Arab officials speaking to Times of Israel warned that agreeing to sit on the Board of Peace does not automatically translate into broader political, military or financial support, and thus should not be interpreted as a blanket endorsement of all elements of the US plan.
