Washington, Dec. 6 -- Three US National Guard soldiers were killed after the Black Hawk helicopter they were riding in crashed in Minnesota in the United States. The Minnesota National Guard tweeted it lost contact with a UH-60 Black Hawk on Thursday afternoon while the helicopter was conducting a maintenance test flight from St. Cloud.

Later, it confirmed the deaths of the three personnel on board.

The wreck of the helicopter was located along a tree line near open fields near St Cloud, 95 kilometers north-west of Minneapolis, The Guardian reported. "Our Minnesota National Guard family is devastated by the deaths of these soldiers," said Jon Jensen, the adjutant general of the Minnesota National Guard.
