Nagpur, Oct. 23 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today described urban Naxalism as one of the most significant challenges facing the government, warning that such movements are attempting to influence the younger generation towards anarchic ideologies.
Speaking informally with journalists in Nagpur on the occasion of Diwali, Fadnavis said that while the problem of armed Naxalism in Maharashtra and neighbouring Chhattisgarh has largely been contained, the rise of urban Naxalism poses a new and more complex threat.
Fadnavis stated that urban Naxals do not have a single identifiable face and operate in concealed forms, spreading dangerous ideas.
