Lucknow, April 2 -- The Uttar Pradesh Sugarcane Development Council (UPSDC) has successfully trained over 9 lakh sugarcane farmers through live sessions on social media, departmental sources said here on Wednesday.
Sources said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the initiative aims to equip farmers with modern techniques, contributing to UP's position as the leading state in sugarcane production and productivity.
Sources said that since February 2024, the UPSDC has been running this programme, reaching over 15 lakh sugarcane farmers. "The Facebook Live training sessions have not only benefited farmers in UP but have also extended their reach to sugarcane growers in Uttarakhand and Nepal," they said.
