New Delhi, May 4 -- The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) achieved 22.35 billion transaction count in April 2026, indicating massive participation of people driving the digital payments revolution forward, the Department of Financial Services (DFS) said on Monday.
UPI was launched in 2016 by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), bringing bank accounts together in one mobile app.
