Barabanki (UP), March 30 -- A 29-year-old youth, who went to intervene in a fight between others was shot by an unidentified miscreant in the City Kotwali area of Barabanki district here in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, police sources said.
Sources said the incident took place in the evening on the Barabanki-Lucknow highway near Safedabad town where two youths going towards Lucknow in a jeep shot a youth riding a motorcycle. "Both miscreants fled from the spot after the incident," they said.
The sources said the police reached the spot soon and took the injured youth to the district hospital, where the doctor declared him dead.
