Fatehpur, Oct. 8 -- A road accident occurred early today morning near Barouri village on the Kanpur-Prayagraj highway under the Kalyanpur police station area of Bindki tehsil, Fatehpur district.
A Scorpio vehicle lost control and fell into a water-filled ditch near an overbridge after one of its tires reportedly lost air.
The impact was so severe that the vehicle became completely submerged in the water. Due to the early morning hours and lack of immediate help nearby, four passengers drowned in the incident.
The deceased have been identified as Sahil Gupta (26), Shivam Sahu (28), Ritesh Sonkar alias Nanki (28), and Rahul Keshrwani (25).
