Lucknow, Jan. 22 -- The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Uttar Pradesh police has arrested Rajendra Kumar Dubey, the then in-charge of the malkhana (storeroom) of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), in a 12-year-old case related to misappropriation of government funds, an officer confirmed on Wednesday.

Dubey is accused of embezzling Rs 42,23,100 from seized cash, the officials confirmed.

The arrest was made as part of a special drive being conducted to nab wanted accused in economic offence cases. According to the EOW, on August 26, 2013, the NCB seized Rs 52.49 lakh from Baljeet Singh, the operator of Simran Pharma shop located in New Dawa Bazaar, Aminabad, in connection with a case under the NDPS Act.
