Maharajganj (UP), April 29 -- Eight workers were injured when a portion of an under-construction bridge collapsed in the Pandharpur area of the Maharajganj district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Tuesday.
Police sources said that the bridge is being built above the railway line in Mohanapur village as a part of widening the Gorakhpur-Sonauli National Highway.
"On Monday night, while the workers were working on this bridge, a part of it collapsed suddenly, due to which the workers were buried under the debris. As soon as the information about the accident was received, local people, police and rescue teams reached the spot," they said.
