Moradabad, April 20 -- A police constable posted in Moradabad has been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, officials said on Monday.

The accused, Mahendra Pal Singh, a native of Bareilly currently posted in Moradabad, came under scrutiny after a complaint reached senior officials in the state's anti-corruption wing. Following orders from the Deputy Inspector General (Public Grievances) and the Deputy Inspector General of the Anti-Corruption Organization in Lucknow, an enquiry was initiated.
