Lucknow, April 1 -- The Transport Department of Uttar Pradesh has initiated setting up of the Model Institute of Driving Training and Research (IDTR) to institutionalise road safety and provide advanced training for commercial drivers in the state, official sources said here on Tuesday.
Sources said that Transport Commissioner Brajesh Narayan Singh has formally requested District Magistrates in nine districts to allocate 10 to 15 acres of land for the project.
Sources said that the proposed IDTRs will be set up in Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Ballia, Agra, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Jhansi, Kanpur Nagar, Shahjahanpur and Prayagraj under a scheme funded by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), which has directed proposals for these l...
