Lucknow, Feb. 6 -- In a move to develop water transport and tourism in Uttar Pradesh, the state government has approved the formation of UP Inland Waterways Authority.
To ensure the smooth functioning of the authority, the 'UP Waterways Authority Rules 2025' have been promulgated. A proposal in this regard was passed during the cabinet meeting which was chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday.
Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna said that altogether 12 proposals were discussed in the meeting, with 11 receiving Cabinet approval.
