Lucknow, Aug. 20 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has initiated a new drive to boost Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue by bringing insurance companies under closer scrutiny. The State Tax Department has issued notices to all insurance companies registered under State GST in Uttar Pradesh, seeking replies to nearly 40 questions to verify whether the entire GST collected from customers on premiums is being deposited.
