Lucknow, Aug. 1 -- In a groundbreaking move towards combating plastic pollution, the Uttar Pradesh government has launched an initiative to turn cow dung from stray cattle-54 lakh kg generated daily-into sustainable products like bioplastics, biopolymers, biotextiles, eco-friendly clothing, paper, board, biogas, compost, and nanocellulose.
The innovative step not only combats plastic pollution but also promotes rural employment, organic farming, and energy self-reliance under the "Har Gaon Urja Kendra" model.
Chairman of the Gau Seva Commission, Shyam Bihari Gupta, emphasised here on Friday that the scheme is a direct reflection of the Chief Minister's model for rural energy and economic empowerment.
