Lucknow, April 7 -- The Zero Fatality District (ZFD) initiative, launched across Uttar Pradesh on January 1, 2026, is already yielding encouraging results in reducing road accidents and fatalities. Introduced under the direction of the Chief Minister and guided by the state's Director General of Police, the scheme targets accident-prone police station areas with a focused, data-driven strategy.
The program has been implemented in all seven police commissionerates and 68 districts, covering 487 high-risk police stations. To ensure effective execution, 573 dedicated Crash Control (CC) teams have been formed.
