Lucknow, Jan. 13 -- Uttar Pradesh will mark its special presence at the Republic Day celebrations on January 26 at Kartavya Path in Delhi. Heads of 42 gram panchayats selected at the state level have been invited as special guests to the Republic Day ceremony. These heads will participate in the programme along with their spouses/ guardians.
The invitation, extended by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, is not only a testament to the strong panchayati raj system of the state, but also a national recognition of the positive and effective changes taking place at the grassroots level, officials said.
The heads of 42 gram panchayats have been nominated in accordance with the standards set by the Ministry.
