Varanasi, Dec. 11 -- The Varanasi Police have announced a reward of Rs 25,000 each for two absconding accused involved in an illegal trade of codeine-based cough syrup, officials said on Thursday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Gaurav Banswal stated that the reward has been declared against Shubham Jaiswal, owner of Shaili Traders, and his associate Mahesh Singh, both of whom are wanted in the case.
According to Banswal, a video recently released by Shubham Jaiswal-claiming his innocence- is currently under investigation. Reports have also surfaced suggesting that Jaiswal may have fled to Dubai.
