Lucknow, Dec. 10 -- Uttar Pradesh is continuously achieving success in the direction of filariasis eradication.
After registering a sharp decline in the infection rate, now the Mass Drug Administration (MDA) campaign will be run only once in a year in the state.
Earlier this campaign was run twice in February and August.
On Tuesday, State Filariasis Officer Dr. A.K. Chaudhary said that the eradication of filariasis was started from 782 blocks in 51 districts of the state. But after the reduction of infection now, this scope has now been reduced to 52 blocks of only 17 districts. This is being considered as an important achievement in the direction of eradication of filariasis in the state.
