Lucknow, July 3 -- The Uttar Pradesh excise department is elated with its achievement in revenue collection in the first quarter of the current fiscal. UP Minister of State (independent charge) Nitin Aggarwal said here today that the excise department collected Rs 14,400 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal, which is around 98.8% of the target and was Rs 2,445 crore more than the revenue of Rs 11,783.76 collected in the same period in 2024-25.
"The collection in the first quarter of this fiscal has exceeded the total amount the state earned in 2016-17, which shows our efficiency," he said.
In June this year, the department collected Rs 4,458.22 crore as revenue, which was Rs 1,027.02 crores more than the corresponding month of 2024. ...
