Lucknow, May 25 -- In a bid to digitally empower gram panchayats, the Uttar Pradesh government will invest Rs 278 crore to develop a digital workforce across villages, including setting up District Panchayat Resource Centres and Learning Centres to strengthen local governance and service delivery, official sources said here on Sunday.
Sources said that the initiative is being undertaken under the National Gram Swaraj Abhiyan scheme, which aims to connect Panchayats with modern technology and bring about a major transformation in the efficiency of service delivery.
