Lucknow, Oct. 31 -- The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has taken major disciplinary action in the State Tax Department, suspending Deputy Commissioner of State Tax Rajesh Kumar Dwivedi with immediate effect over a Rs 5.95 crore fake Input Tax Credit (ITC) scam, officials confirmed today.
According to the departmental inquiry, Dwivedi committed serious irregularities during his tenure as Assistant Commissioner in Gorakhpur. He allegedly failed to follow mandatory guidelines while approving GST registrations for Tiwari Enterprises, Dinesh Enterprises, and Himanshu Traders.
