Lucknow, Dec. 18 -- Following a surge in road accidents in Uttar Pradesh due to dense fog, security measures have been tightened on expressways and national highways.
Officials said that at least 31 people died across the state in various fog-related accidents during the past 24 hours.
The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), which manages major access-controlled routes including the Agra-Lucknow, Purvanchal, Bundelkhand, and Gorakhpur Link Expressways, said that additional precautionary measures are being taken after Tuesday's incidents.
