The government's push for self-reliance in agriculture, the Kharif season has seen significant expansion in the acreage of sesame, groundnut, and soybean, according to the latest data from the Agriculture Department claimed here on Thursday.

In 2024, the total area under oilseed crops stood at 432.25 thousand hectares, which has jumped to 547.14 thousand hectares in 2025-a growth of nearly 1.25 times.
