Lucknow, March 10 -- The Uttar Pradesh governnent has made service rules for state governnent employees more stringent to prevent corruption in the government departments and directed that the employees will have to declare their immovable property every year.
The decision was taken in the state cabinet meeting here on Tuesday to amend Rule 21 and 24 of the Uttar Pradesh Government Servants' Conduct Rules, 1956.
Officials said that through the proposed amendment a provision is being made in Rule 21 that all governnent employees will inform the appropriate authority about investment of an amount exceeding six months' basic salary in stocks, shares or other investments in a calendar year.
