Lucknow, Aug. 11 -- Reaffirming its commitment to social welfare, the Uttar Pradesh government has strengthened support for people with disabilities and individuals affected by leprosy through transparent and timely delivery of benefits.

Under the Leprosy Pension Scheme, each eligible beneficiary receives Rs 3,000 per month-reaching 34,994 leprosy-affected people with disabilities in the past three years, including 12,692 in the first quarter of 2025-26 alone.

Similarly, the Divyang Bharan Poshan Anudan Yojana, which provides Rs 1,000 monthly to eligible people with disabilities, has benefited 3,086,102 people over the past three years, with 1,132,240 receiving payments to their bank accounts in the first quarter of this year.
