Lucknow, July 19 -- The Allahabad High Court's Lucknow bench has commented that the Uttar Pradesh government cannot stop the religious customs prevalent under normal circumstances due to small reasons, especially when these practices promote cultural harmony in the society.



The court made this comment in the order of annual Jeth Mela at the Dargah of Syed Salar Masood Ghazi in Bahraich on Friday.



The court said that during the arrangements made under the interim order passed on May 17 in the case, peace and harmony remained, so the apprehensions of the state government regarding organizing Urs or fair was not correct.
