Lucknow, Oct. 1 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a 10 percent reduction in fares for all air-conditioned buses operated by the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC), giving passengers a festive relief ahead of Dussehra and Diwali.
The reduced fares will remain in effect until further notice.
Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge), Daya Shankar Singh, said the move is a "gift" to the people during the festive season, ensuring affordable travel while maintaining profitability for the transport corporation.
"This step has been taken to enhance passenger convenience and provide better services while keeping fares lower during the festivals," he said.
