Lucknow, July 22 -- Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya today launched a sharp attack on the principal opposition Samajwadi Party (SP), accusing it of attempting to malign the image of the Kanwar Yatra.
He alleged that SP was deliberately trying to disturb communal harmony by sending its own people into the Yatra under the guise of Kanwariyas.
Speaking to the media, Maurya said, "Those who are trying to spoil the atmosphere while pretending to be Kanwariyas are actually attempting to defame the Yatra. I suspect the Samajwadi Party's involvement in this. They might be sending such individuals to disrupt peace."
